Soparnik, once a staple for farm laborers in Poljica, has evolved into a cherished gastronomic delight recognized by the EU with a geographical origin label. Made from simple ingredients like wheat flour, chard leaves, onion, garlic, and olive oil, soparnik is prepared by spreading the filling between two thin layers of dough, baking it under a peka bell or hot ash, and finishing with olive oil and garlic. This humble yet flavorful dish represents the rich culinary heritage of the region.
